  • New Haven Nighthawks – Old Time Ale
The OTA is a Classic German Style AltBier – 5% ABV (German: old beer) is a style of beer brewed in the historical region of Westphalia and around the city of Düsseldorf, Germany. Its name comes from it being top-fermented, an older method than the bottom fermentation of other lagered beers. Old style of beer for an old style of hockey.

    New Haven Nighthawks – Light
The NHL is a 120 calorie (per 12 oz) light Cream Ale – 4.5% ABV a style of American beer light in color. First crafted in the mid-1800s in the United States, cream ale remained a very localized form with different styles until the early 20th century. A true American beer for the American Hockey Fan.

New Haven Nighthawks – The Constitution Stout w/ Nutmeg
The Constitution Stout is a 6% ABV Oatmeal Stout with Nutmeg. The oatmeal adds a smooth, rich body to the stout. Nutmeg is a spice that comes from the seed of the evergreen and is nutty and slightly sweet and also, of course, a Connecticut icon. A great team of ingredients much like Hoax and Nighthawk Brewing.

New Haven Blades – Dave’s Kick Save IPA
Dave’s Kick Save IPA is a 7% ABV India Pale Ale and is named after one of the great Nighthawks (see our list of 10 Greatest Nighthawks of All-Time), goalie Dave Hainsworth. Dave Hainsworth is one of the most beloved New Haven area hockey players ever. Dave was born in Kitchener Ontario in 1948 at a time when the town you lived in determined which NHL farm system you joined. He spent his youth tending fields at his family’s farm in the warm months and tending goal the rest of the year. In 1968, at 19 years old he arrived in New Haven where he became one of the most popular players in history, playing for both the New Haven Blades from 1968-1972 and for the New Haven Nighthawks for 1981-1982 and again from 1984-1986. Dave also coached the Yale University hockey team and ran Hainsworth Sporting Goods for 20 years.
